					<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The School of History, Philosophy, and Religion at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon invites applications from specialists in <strong>Buddhist Studies</strong> (Asian Buddhism) for a <strong>full-time tenure-track</strong> appointment at the <strong>Assistant Professor </strong>level, effective September 16, 2016. <span id="more-1917"></span></p>
<p><strong>Teaching responsibilities</strong><br />
Teaching responsibilities are five courses per academic year. We seek candidates qualified to teach introductory and upper-level courses on Buddhist Studies and more broadly on Asian religion and philosophy. Candidates should also have the ability to teach an introductory course on world religions. </p>
<p><strong>Required qualifications</strong><br />
The successful candidate will demonstrate competence in Religious Studies theory and methods, mastery of languages relevant to their area of specialization, have a <strong>Ph.D</strong>. in Religious Studies or a closely related field by employment start date, and possess the skill and enthusiasm required for research and teaching with excellence in Buddhist Studies and Religious Studies. </p>
