					<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Department of Religion at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick, invites applications for a <strong>full-time, non-tenure-track</strong> position in <strong>Buddhist Studies</strong> during the 2014-2015 academic year. The position will be in a one-year, non-renewable contract. <span id="more-685"></span></p>
<p>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience; the position carries a full package of university benefits.<br />
<strong>Teaching duties for the position (of 18 credit hours, or 6 courses, for the year)</strong> will be a combination of courses in Buddhist Studies and Asian religions, depending on the specialization of the candidate and the needs of the department.<br />
<strong><br />
Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>Candidates should have a <strong>PhD in Buddhist Studies</strong> (East Asian, South Asian or Southeast Asian) or a closely related field, although applicants who are <strong>ABD will also be considered</strong>. The successful candidate will show evidence of commitment to dynamic and effective teaching and demonstrate <strong>preparedness to teach general courses in Asian religions</strong> as well as courses in his/her field of specialization, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate might need to help M.A.-level students with theses related to the candidate’s area of specialization.<br />
